Sycamore has become a great find for us. Like Myrtle, is a sustainable domestic hardwood. We also think it falls squarely in the middle of our acoustic spectrum.
As you can see from the pictures, it has a dramatic grain structure sometimes mistaken for lacewood.
While its balance makes it wonderful in a resonator, it has become Gordon's favorite wood for a classic or 6-string. As the instrument opens up, sycamore delivers wonderful depth, sustain and warmth while retaining the attack of the individual notes.
