We have again been fortunate enough to procure several beautiful sets of Brazilian Rosewood. Some of these include very rare spalted sapwood. All dark and unique.
Brightness abounds when it comes to the tone of Brazilian. Pair with Spruce to keep all the brightness, Redwood for the bright side of center and Cedar for the warmer side of the road.

Redwood Now Available
We are very fortunate indeed! We now have a supplier of some absolutely amazing redwood. One of our customers worked in a lumber yard long, long ago - like 40 years ago. Apparently, anything that didn't have straight grain was burned. Our friend rescued a bit of it before it hit the burn pile, thankfully and has always had a dream that it would be made into instruents. We're a match made in heaven since we have a dream of making the best-sounding and most stunning ukueles out there!
3 varieties are now available. We recommend it for a top wood but an all-Redwood instrument would yield a very warm tone similar to Koa. Note size restrictions. Contact Char directly to discuss using Redwood for your instrument. (**No charge to pair with Master Grade back & sides. $50 upgrade charge otherwise.)
Curly RedwoodDark red grains lines oppose the big, rolling curl in this amazingly dramatic variety. The curl yields blue and red horizontal bands.

Bird's Eye RedwoodIncredibly concentrated "bird's eyes" and wavy grain make this variety so unique. Brownish red in color.
Available in soprano/super soprano size only. |
Straight-Grain Sinker RedwoodFor the simpler look, this straight, tight vertical grain offers a darker top option.
